Last week...

- The service in the Chapel last Wednesday was a great way for us to begin the season of Lent.

- A fun group turned out for lunch at Islands and glow in the dark mini-golf on Saturday afternoon.

Coming up...

- This upcoming Wednesday, February 24 - Kellie will continue to lead the discussion on "Love". This is the last study of the month, so you'll want to be there!

- During the month of March - Rachel will lead us in a study of the movie "The Truman Show".

- Saturday, March 6 - The bridge plans to take a trip to St. Vincent's Point in Palos Verdes for an afternoon of whale watching, picnicking and taking in the sunset.

- If you are making blankets for Binky Patrol, plan to meet at least twice to tie them. The first potential meeting time is 1pm on Sunday, February 28 in the bridge room. Please contact Sarah or Shannon if you can be there.

- Thank you to everyone who sent in updates for the bridge Contact List. If you did not send in your updates, please do so as soon as possible. If you prefer to not be included on the list just let us know.

- Anyone is welcome to include prayer requests in the weekly bridge email. Send an email or facebook message to the bLT and we will gladly include your prayers.

16 February 2010

Greetings!

- Last Wednesday, Kellie led us in a lively discussion and gave us a look into the meaning of "Love". Be sure to make it to the remaining Wednesdays this month for a continuation of the discussion.

- Christoph's concert last Saturday was fantastic. There was a great turnout for the concert and we had plenty of help with the fundraising part. Thank you to everyone who helped!

Looking ahead...

- This upcoming Wednesday, February 17 - Ash Wednesday services in the FUMC Chapel will be held at 12:15 pm and at 7:30 pm. Come and join the Bridge at the 7:30 pm service. We plan to meet in the Bridge room beforehand and then reconvene afterward for discussion and fellowship.

- Saturday, February 20 - We plan to meet at the Howard Hughes Center "The Bridge". Lunch is at 12:30 pm and we will follow that up with a round of Mini Golf to start around 1:30-2 pm. We recommend carpooling to this event.

- Saturday, March 6 - We will take a trip to St. Vincent's Point in Palos Verdes for an afternoon of whale watching, picnicking and taking in the sunset.

- During the month of March - Rachel will lead us in a movie study.

Week of 10/Feb/2010: Bridge update

Hello everyone!

- Last Wednesday's game night was full of laughs, drawing skills and good cookies!

And coming up...

- This upcoming Wednesday, February 10 - Kellie, our very own love guru, will lead us in a study of "Love". She will lead on this topic throughout the month. You'll want to be there!

- Saturday, February 13 - Christoph Bull Fundraising Organ Concert - From 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm - In the FUMC sanctuary - Sign up here to help: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=274886015815&ref=mf

- Wednesday, February 17 - FUMC is holding two Ash Wednesday services in the Chapel, one at 12:15 pm and another at 7:30 pm. As we traditionally do, we will gather in the Bridge room before the evening service and attend together. We will reconvene in the Bridge room after the service ends for discussion and fellowship.

- Saturday, February 20 - We plan to meet at the Howard Hughes Center "The Bridge". Lunch is at 12:30 pm and we will follow that up with a round of Mini Golf to start around 1:30-2 pm.

- Saturday, March 6 - We will take a trip to St. Vincent's Point in Palos Verdes for an afternoon of whale watching, picnicking and taking in the sunset.

- If you are planning to make fleece comfort blankets for Disney's "Give a Day Get a Disney Day" with Shannon and Sarah, remember to sign up online!

Week of 3/Feb/2010: Bridge update

- For the final week of our interfaith study, Noel led us in a discussion of Bible verses about religious tolerance and intolerance, from both the Old and New Testament. Thank you Noel for organizing an intriguing series of guest speakers and discussion!

- For the following three Wednesdays in February, Kellie will lead us a study of "Love".
